Our Involvement

Game Plan Communications was contracted to manage the City of Gold Coast and Griffith University’s 2019 Staff and Students Travel Behaviour Project, which included a successful O-Week promotion and engagement activity, the development of a travel survey and the creation of a suite of project marketing and promotional collateral.

Game Plan Communications has been contracted by Villawood – one of Australia’s leading residential land developers – to assist in stakeholder engagement and communications strategies including newsletters and community workshops.

GPC were responsible for the launch and further promotion of the Gold Coast performance of Queen + Adam Lambert (February, 2020). GPC were also contracted to head communications, media management and release writing surrounding the troubled, then cancelled, SandTunes Music Festival.

Game Plan provide independent media management to the Department of Child Safety Youth and Women, including the development and implementation of media strategy, Chairman briefings, co-ordinating multi-agency media calls, distribution and development of media materials and the on-site management of media activity for Safer Schoolies.

Game Plan Communications played a major role in the planning and execution of the media and communications for the 2019 Gold Coast Marathon, including assisting in the formation of the media plan and then involvement in all media before, during and after the event to assure the best possible outcome.

GPC captured the essence of the UniSport Nationals by producing, shooting and editing daily videos including a wrap of events, behind the scenes and feature pieces posted across all UniSport’s digital assets. GPC also managed the broadcast of the Div2 Basketball finals, which was streamed nationally.

Game Plan Communications provided professional venue media management, news services and sport writing services to the 2019 edition of the Rugby World Cup at 11 competition venues across Japan.

As contractors to Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), Game Plan Communications provided media management services for SportAccord – the umbrella organisation for all Olympic and non-Olympic international sports federations as well as organisers of multi-sports games and sport-related international associations.

GPC is contracted to produce content for GCCEC digital assets. So far, the content has consisted of editorial pieces highlighting why the GCCEC, and the Gold Coast generally, are among the nation’s most attractive destinations for conference and event attendees.

Game Plan Communications provided the complete media and marketing solution for Primex 2019. GPC organised all lead-up media, marketing (including TVC and digital advertising) and events, liaised with all stakeholders, and activated a newsroom throughout the event – providing on-site coverage across the three days.

GPC’s Directors Wayne Hickson and Pat McLeod played an integral role as leading senior team members of the official information service for the Games. Contracted as ‘Sport Experts’ the pair produced daily coverage of sports as well as the planning, checking and dissemination of news.

Game Plan Communications provided news desk services – specifically, sports writing and sub-editing – for the PanPacs from major sports venues and the Main Press Centre. This contract began with lead up editorial and then when the event was live, providing sports news coverage.

Our Involvement

Game Plan Communications provided media management services – specifically, chief sub-editing – from the Main Press Centre in the heart of the Belarus capital, Minsk, for the 2019 European Games. The editorial copy being picked up by all major media outlets in Europe.

Game Plan Communications delivered the official News Service for the Games, which included media management, story identification, sport writing, volunteer co-ordination and professional media advice to the Organising Committee.
